Learning on the Rann

In India’s far west, there is a great salt desert that once was a part of the Arabian sea. Now, post geological phenomena, wedged under the subcontinent’s ribs and stretching out into the Western horizon and to the sea beyond lie the bleached flat lands of the Rann of Kutch. Little and Greater. It is famed for its rich wildlife and nomadic cultures. In fact it is the last home of the Asiatic wild ass and numerous colonies of nesting pink flamingos! And then there are all those native trees, wetlands, lakes dotted with fields, a variety of smaller birdlife, butterflies and dragonflies too.

While here, you will be immersed in Kathiawadi hospitality while you experience the simple lifestyles of the local community. This is a great setting for the curious and sensitive traveller to explore and understand this land and its life.

At Ubuntu, we try our best to see that we are careful with how we treat the planet and its people. Ergo,we choose whom we partner with, carefully.
